APERIAM IN PARABOLIS OS MEUM. Lapide: Psalm 77 (Asaph) — "I will open my mouth in parables: I will utter propositions from the beginning." Matthew quotes v.2 as fulfilled in Christ's teaching in parables (Mt. 13:35). Lapide: the prophetic tradition of teaching by parable runs from Moses through the psalms to Christ, in whom all parabolic speech finds its fullest expression and explanation.
