IUDICA DOMINE NOCENTES ME. Lapide: Psalm 34 — a prayer against persecutors, fulfilled in Christ's Passion. "Judge them, O Lord, that wrong me." Lapide: this imprecatory psalm (calling down judgment on enemies) must be understood in the typological framework: it is Christ speaking, and the judgment invoked is not personal revenge but divine justice exercised through history (the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD as a consequence of the Passion).
