BENEDICAM DOMINUM IN OMNI TEMPORE. Lapide: Psalm 33 — "I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall be always in my mouth." Lapide: "in omni tempore" — at all times, not only in prosperity and consolation but also in adversity and desolation. The continual praise of God is both the goal of the liturgy and the mark of the perfect soul. Lapide: this is the spirit of the Divine Office, which distributes prayer through all the hours of the day and night, so that the Church, spread throughout the world, is always blessing God somewhere.
