EXSULTATE IUSTI IN DOMINO. Lapide: Psalm 32 — a hymn of praise. "Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just." Lapide: the call to rejoice is not an invitation but a command (imperative). Joy in God is an obligation of justice for those who have received His gifts. Lapide notes: the praise of God is both a duty and a privilege — a duty because God deserves it infinitely; a privilege because the creature is honored to give it.
