Psalms — Chapter 27

AD TE DOMINE CLAMABO. Lapide: Psalm 27 — "To Thee, O Lord, will I cry: O my God, be not Thou silent to me." Lapide: the prayer that God not be silent = the prayer that God respond with His word, His providence, His consolation. The divine silence is the most terrifying experience of prayer; Lapide: when God seems silent, He is most deeply present — purifying the soul through the dark night.
