Verse 15

ERAT ENIM VOLUNTATIS DEI — Hebrew: \"it was caused from God.\" God willed to divide Israel from the ten tribes as punishment for Jeroboam's idolatry, and therefore permitted Rehoboam to answer so harshly. Providence uses even human folly for its purposes.
