CONFITEBOR TIBI DOMINE IN TOTO CORDE MEO. Lapide: Psalm 9 — "I will give praise to Thee, O Lord, with my whole heart." The wholeness of praise demanded: the whole heart (totum cor), not divided, not partial. Lapide: half-hearted praise is no praise at all. The soul's faculties (memory, intellect, will) must all be engaged in the act of praise.
