PARATUM COR MEUM DEUS. Lapide: Psalm 56 — "My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready." Lapide: the twice-repeated "paratum" (ready) marks the soul's firm resolution and complete orientation toward God. Ready for what? For praise (vv.8-9), for witness, for whatever God wills. Lapide: readiness of heart = the fundamental disposition of the will fully surrendered to God, the posture of "fiat" — Thy will be done.
