PRO DILIGENTIBUS ME DETRAHEBANT MIHI. Lapide: Psalm 108 — the great imprecatory psalm (NT quoted in Acts 1:20). "Instead of making me a return of love, they detracted me." Lapide: quoted of Judas in Acts 1:20 ("his bishopric let another take," v.8). The betrayal of love by hatred is the most acute form of injustice — and the one Christ most perfectly exemplifies in His suffering.
