AND MAY ALMIGHTY GOD MAKE HIM FAVOURABLE TO YOU, AND SEND BACK WITH YOU YOUR BROTHER WHOM HE HAS KEPT, AND THIS BENJAMIN: AND I SHALL BE AS ONE BEREAVED WITHOUT CHILDREN. — Jacob's desolate prayer as he sends Benjamin: \"God Almighty\" (El Shaddai) — invoking the divine name given to Abraham (Gen. 17:1). Jacob here acts as the patriarch-priest, interceding for his sons before the all-powerful God. His willingness to send Benjamin despite his grief is an act of faith and submission.
