Genesis — Chapter 42

Verse 6

AND JOSEPH WAS GOVERNOR OF THE LAND AND CORN WAS SOLD BY HIS DIRECTION TO ALL PEOPLE. AND HIS BRETHREN CAME AND ADORED HIM. — Joseph's brothers bow before him (Gen. 42:6), fulfilling the dream of the sheaves (Gen. 37:7). They do not recognize him; he recognizes them. Morally: Joseph's tears (v. 24) — he weeps for his brothers, though still dealing sternly with them. Type of Christ weeping over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41) and over sinners, while still allowing divine justice to have its course.
