MONS SION LATERA AQUILONIS. Lapide: Psalm 47 — "Mount Sion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King." The theological geography of Jerusalem. Lapide: Jerusalem on the north side of Sion is a figure of the Church, the city of the great King (Mt. 5:35 — Christ calls Jerusalem "the city of the great King"). Lapide: the Church is built on the foundation of Mount Sion — the apostolic tradition and the Petrine primacy.
