Jeremiah — Chapter 49
Synopsis: Oracles against Ammon, Edom, Damascus, Kedar/Hazor, Elam. Edom's desolation will be like Sodom; 'Who is like me, and who will challenge me?' but God will strip away all of Edom's pride.
Verse 11
Leave thy fatherless children, I will bring them up: and thy widows shall trust in me. In the midst of judgment on Edom, God promises to care for the orphans and widows left behind. Lapide: even in His fiercest judgments, God does not abandon the innocent dependents.
