A lamentation (kinah) for the princes of Israel, using the image of a lioness and her cubs. Lapide gives careful historical identification of the figures — the lioness is Jerusalem or the tribe of Judah; the first cub is Jehoahaz (taken to Egypt); the second is Jehoiachin or Zedekiah (taken to Babylon).
