1 Kings — Chapter 5

Solomon prepares to build the Temple for the Name of the Lord: Lapide sees in this preparation the type of the Church's building. God wished Solomon to erect the Temple so that in one temple the unity of religion and of Judaism would be preserved, and the Jews would be utterly kept from the profane and high-place sacrifices of the Gentiles.
